Ruth Langer

Ruth Langer is Professor of Jewish Studies in the Theology Department of Boston College. Her areas of specialization are the history of Jewish liturgy and Christian-Jewish relations, in which she is a recognized leader. Her books include Cursing the Christians?: A History of the Birkat HaMinim (2012) and To Worship God Properly: Tensions Between Liturgical Custom and Halakhah in Judaism (1998, 2005). She has also published articles widely on contemporary topics in the Christian-Jewish dialogue.
